DOES CBD GET YOU HIGH?

DOES CBD GET YOU HIGH?

CBD is an active ingredient that comes from the cannabis plant.  YES we said it.  The cannabis plant.  But that’s where the association ends. CBD is not like THC - which is the chemical within the cannabis plant that makes you high. All INTUNE CBD drinks are THC free. No highs here at all.

WHAT IS CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol) derives from the hemp plant. CBD is a non-psychomimetic cannabinoid component of the hemp plant, unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) – so you won’t get high! You can benefit from CBD in a variety of ways through the use of different topical and ingestible products. Commonly, people use CBD to treat anxiety, stress relief or sleeping problems. But we believe its power goes much further than this.

There are many different CBD products available on the market today, including gummies, oils, meals, and, of course, CBD drinks! You can also find it in capsules and edibles. As CBD can be taken in many ways, it can become overwhelming to understand the difference between each type of CBD product. Whatever method you choose to use to consume CBD, we always advise making sure it is a high-quality, traceable product.

Drinks containing CBD are popular because they make it simple for people to incorporate CBD into their daily lives. Drinks like ours may be made using water-soluble CBD, which offers a balanced and energizing method to get your daily dose and benefit from this potent plant.

At your desk or on the dance floor, INTUNE CBD beverages can be sipped all day long!

CBD vs THC

So, what’s the difference between CBD and THC? Why does one make you high and the other helps you relax and focus? Let’s get nerdy…

CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are both cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. THC is the psychoactive compound that gives marijuana its recreational properties, while CBD is non-psychoactive and does not produce a high. Both compounds have potential therapeutic applications, but CBD has shown more promise as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, pain, inflammation, and seizure disorders. In addition, CBD has also been shown to boost heart health, reduce seizure activity, and promote healthy skin and hair. While more research is needed to fully understand the potential health benefits of CBD, it is clear that this compound offers a wide range of potential applications for promoting overall wellness.

Both Team THC and Team CBD have many supporters and report positive benefits from consuming both. But, it’s important to note that THC is illegal in the UK whereas CBD is completely legal.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CBD?

There are three main types of CBD: isolate, full-spectrum, and broad-spectrum.

The majority of the substances included in the hemp plant, including THC, are present in full-spectrum CBD. You won't find any products with full-spectrum CBD on the UK market because THC is illegal here.

Broad-spectrum CBD is almost identical to full-spectrum CBD, minus the THC. Although CBD and THC are the cannabinoids that are most well-known, they are not the only active components in hemp. This CBD type features a variety of cannabinoids that helps to create an ‘entourage effect’, meaning their effect is more pronounced when interacting with each other.

With no additional active ingredients other than CBD, isolate is the purest form of CBD available. While isolate may be the ‘least efficient’ form of CBD for some, it is frequently recognized as the purest and ‘cleanest’. Since isolate CBD typically has no taste or odour, it is ideal for usage in cosmetic products.

IS CBD LEGAL IN THE UK?

Yes! While CBD encourages feelings of calm and focus, it’s THC, the illegal component of hemp, can get you high. Each can of our CBD drinks contains 10mg of CBD, which is 100% legal in the UK. Although the Food Standards Organisation (FSA) in the UK is currently regulating CBD, a select few companies, including ours, have been granted advanced certification to trade.

CBD is a safe recreational and medical ingredient that is not addictive, according to the World Health Organization.

CONCLUSION

Simply put, CBD cannot get you high. The hemp plant has many different cannabinoids, of which CBD and THC are the most active. THC is the component that includes psychoactive compounds and therefore makes you high. It is currently illegal in the UK, so you won’t find it in any CBD products. CBD, on the other hand, is completely legal and safe. It provides amazing benefits to the body when interacting with our existing endocannabinoid systems, to produce feelings of relaxation, focus, balance and clarity. We’ll take those over a ‘high’ any day!
